The countdown timers for ISF Jinjiang 2020 Gymnasiade were lit up a few days ago at the city landmarks, including Jinjiang Gymnasiade Sports Center, the traditional block of Wudianshi, the traditional village of Wulin, and Jinjiang International Airport.
According to the publicity staff from the Executive Committee Office, there are two different styles of the countdown timers. The modern one is named "Haisi Yulan" and the ancient one, "Minjinhe". The timers are designed specially to fit the environment while manifesting the fusion of antiquity and modernity of the Jinjiang city.
The "Haisi Yulan" timers in Jinjiang Gymnasiade Sports Center and Jinjiang International Airport is an embodiment of fresh modernity and dynamics with flowing lines.
The design of "Haisi Yulan" was inspired by white magnolias, the city flower of Jinjiang, combining the basic color of the VI system of the Gymnasiade, the unique stone- and-brick walls of Southern Fujian architecture and the element of sea waves. The rich and vibrant colors echo the Maritime Silk Road culture and the concept of the ISF Jinjiang 2020 Gymnasiade slogan, which not only show the cultural heritage of the city, but also express the best wishes for the diverse way of growth of youngsters across the world.
The main structure of "Minjinhe" is an ancient house in southern Fujian style that integrates into the traditional block of Wudianshi and the traditional village of Wulin. Added with the element of paper-cut for window decoration, the overall shape looks elegant and lively. It symbolizes that Jinjiang is an open and inclusive city, which warmly welcomes the arrival of middle school students from the world.
According to Zeng Junyuan, the chief designer of the countdown timer designing team, the timer has a built-in battery, enabling it to function properly despite power failure. To ensure safety and stability, each timer is built on a solid foundation, which can resist the Force 12 winds. At the same time, special workers are also assigned for its maintenance.
