At the Chinese Middle School Swimming Challenge (Jinjiang) & the Swimming Test Competition of ISF Jinjiang 2020 Gymnasiade, the swimming and diving stadium in Jinjiang Gymnasiade Sports Center made its debut in front of the national athletes. “This stadium is one of the best I’ve ever played in and is fully comparable to a world-class venue,” said Wang Jing, a competitor from the Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University.
According to Lin Jinting, a staff member of the operator, the swimming pool maintains a constant temperature between 26℃ and 28℃. "The stadium adopts a filtration and disinfection system often used for high-level competitions. Together with special equipment, the water quality is kept at a drinkable level."
In addition, the stadium is equipped with a futuristic technology, the Dolphin lifesaving system. "Underwater cameras with intelligent sensors are installed at four specific locations in the swimming pool. Each has a viewing angle over 90 degrees to ensure full coverage and no blind spots." According to Lin Jinting, the cameras are working 24 hours a day. If any danger comes up, the system will sound the alarm promptly to assist the lifeguards to spot the drowning person within 15 seconds, and at the same time a message with the specific location will be sent to the monitoring room.
The Chinese Middle School Table Tennis Championship & the Table Tennis Test Competition of the Gymnasiade were held in Jinlong Gymnasium of Fuzhou University Science and Education Park. On 16 high-standard courts, blue table tennis tables are neatly placed, with seats for technical officials and referees on either side and a TV for real-time scoring alongside.
"I’m very impressed with the Jinlong gymnasium. The lighting, tables, electronic screens, and other facilities are very professional. This is the first time I’ve played in such a good venue," said Sun Yanhao, a player from the Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University.
Jinjiang Youth Sports School also harvested a wave of praise in the Quanzhou Children's Track & Field Championship & the Athletics Test Competition of the Gymnasiade. “The stadium in Jinjiang Youth Sports School reaches international standards and has been accredited by the Chinese Athletics Association as a first-class venue for sports competition,” said Wu Jiancai, deputy director of the Athletics Competition Committee and headmaster of Jinjiang Youth Sports School.
